Backup Plans

The past couple of days have been a little disheartening on the road trip front. After talks with Jesse and Keith, finances are not coming together like we had hoped. It's looking more and more like our monster trip is going to have to be reduced a bit. My savings have halted due to life, Jesse's are tight because, well, he's getting married and all, and Keith's in the same boat as me... not getting married, but real life is just freezing our savings. Lord willing, we at least plan to drive to the Pacific coast, but we're going to have to cut out tons of stops that I was really looking forward to and probably shorten it to a one week trip. I'm trying to stay up beat about it all despite being terribly disappointed because I know it's the kind of thing that if we could help it we would. We all want to do this full trip so bad we can't stand it. But if the money's not there, we can't just drive out into the Wild West with empty wallets. All I can say now is... hopefully we'll get to do the trip once we're all married. So to my future wife (if you happen to read this), be ready to travel. We've got places to see.
